I feel as though moon pies are not given the proper respect that they so richly deserve. I am currently eating a banana moon pie and I have to say that it's like biting into a tiny piece of heaven.

I bet if Bush had been eating a Moon Pie instead of a pretzel he wouldn't have choked.

Raiders of the Lost Moonpies
When I was younger, my father and I were playing an old Sierra adventure game called Police Quest II. It was one of those games with graphics and text, where you had to type in certain actions like "Talk to woman", "Get bucket", "Use blow-up doll", etc.
Anyway, I was in this one part of the game where I was interrogating a suspect and I was typing, "Ask about knife", "Ask about killer", "Ask about prison", etc.
My father -- out of the clear blue -- says, "Ask about moonpies
"What are moonpies?" I asked.
And thus the saga began.
It has been a running family joke ever since... something that my father and I have bonded over.
When I was a sophomore in high school... TEN YEARS AGO... I wrote a science fiction story called "Raiders of the Lost Moonpies". It was intended to be a series... but it never took off. Now that I'm so much older and wiser (obviously from eating moonpies), maybe I should try rewriting the stories. Might be fun.
Actually... I must confess something. I don't eat moonpies. I worship them.
That is all. Current Mood: contemplative

The best place to find MoonPies are Dollar General
stores. There are over 5000 of them nationwide. They're located mainly in the South but you can find stores in states as far north as Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan. The Chattanooga Bakery makes MoonPies directly for Dollar General so they're usually fresher. If you don't live near a Dollar General store then you'll just have to look at independently owned convienence stores and other dollar stores.

Yeah, the Code Red Mountain Dew is pretty good, but I still gotta find somewhere to GET A FUCKING MOONPIE! T_T
|Friday, May 4th, 2001|
I went to 7-11 and they no longer carry moon pies, apparently. This is not good. And what's up with this new red mountain dew?
A Moon Pie
that has been slightly warmed in a microwave oven is a treat indeed! Current Mood: Hungry
I haven't had a moon pie in a while. I used to always get a Jolt and a moon pie. Lately it's been a frozen lemonade and some candy item like Swedish fish. Before that it was Mountain Dew slurpees and Sour Patch Kids.
I must return to the moon pie!
